BUD LIGHT MURAL – WASAGA BEACH

Inspiration & Concept

Commissioned by an advertising company, this mural captures the vibrant energy and fun associated with Bud Light. The large-scale advertisement features beach-inspired imagery, including a striking beer can and a playful, summery scene, designed to resonate with the laid-back vibes of Wasaga Beach’s famous waterfront.

Techniques & Materials

Image Projection: The initial design was projected onto the massive wall to ensure precise scaling and alignment, essential for such a detailed and oversized project.

Stencils: The beer can was created using one of the largest stencils we’ve ever produced. This allowed for accuracy in replicating the iconic Bud Light branding.

Air Gun: We used an air gun to achieve the smooth fades and subtle gradients on the beer can, ensuring a professional and eye-catching finish.

Hand Detailing: Key elements of the mural, such as highlights and text, were hand-painted to add depth and refinement.

Challenges & Solutions

Extreme Weather: The project was completed during winter, right by the lake, where temperatures were freezing and winds were strong. The crew worked with appropriate winter gear and took frequent breaks to maintain productivity and safety.

Large Scale: The size of the mural posed logistical challenges. A large outdoor skyjack was rented to provide stable and flexible access to the wall’s surface.

Complex Stencils: The massive stencil for the beer can required careful handling and precise application. Adjustments were made on-site to ensure seamless blending and alignment.

Impact & Reception

This mural transformed the building’s exterior into a vibrant advertisement that is impossible to miss. Located near Wasaga Beach’s popular tourist area, the mural has become a memorable visual landmark, effectively promoting Bud Light’s brand.

Timeframe & Scale

The project took a week to complete, with a large crew working daily to meet the deadline. The effort and coordination involved reflect the scale and impact of the final piece.
