CONDO MURAL

Inspiration and Concept

This project involved enhancing the exterior wall of a condominium near Bathurst and Lake Shore in Toronto. The design featured large geometric shapes with certain areas incorporating architectural additions to create a 3D effect. The vision for this mural was to integrate art with architectural design, resulting in a modern and visually striking facade that aligns with the urban surroundings.

Techniques and Materials

To ensure precision, we utilized measurements and chalk lines to outline the geometric shapes accurately. The shapes were then taped carefully before priming and applying the top coat. A combination of boom lifts and a team of skilled painters allowed us to meet the tight project deadlines. Given that this was an active construction site, a dedicated ground person was on watch to maintain safety standards throughout the project.

Challenges and Solutions

The need for precision was one of the main challenges due to the architectural additions planned for the wall after the painting was complete. Each shape needed to align perfectly to avoid discrepancies. Working within a live construction site also required heightened awareness of safety protocols. Our team’s use of boom lifts and constant communication ensured both precision and safety.

Outcome

The finished mural brought a dynamic, geometric aesthetic to the condo’s exterior, successfully complementing the architectural additions. This collaboration between art and design showcased the seamless integration of creative expression within urban developments. The bold, crisp shapes enhanced the visual appeal of the building, leaving a lasting impression on residents and passersby.
