LONE STAR TEXAS GRILL – EXTERIOR GHOST SIGN

Lone Star Texas Grill wanted a rustic, vintage-inspired ghost sign for the exterior of their restaurant. The Wood Fire Grill mural was painted directly onto the building’s metal siding, requiring a specific approach due to the vertical slats on the surface.

Techniques & Process

  • Projection Method: Instead of using a vinyl stencil, we opted for projection due to the corrugated nature of the wall. This allowed us to maintain precision while working on an uneven surface.
  • Hand-Painted Execution: With the projected image in place, we carefully hand-painted the design to achieve an authentic, aged appearance.
  • Ghost Sign Aesthetic: The paint was applied in a way that mimicked natural wear and tear, giving the sign a weathered, vintage feel that blends seamlessly with the rustic charm of the restaurant.
  • Accessing the Wall: Due to the height and conditions of the environment, we used A-frame ladders and scaffolding to complete the work safely and efficiently.

The final product captures the essence of old-school roadside branding while maintaining a crisp and legible design for modern visibility. The ghost sign look gives it a sense of history, making it feel like it’s been part of the building for decades.
