GHOST SIGN INTERIOR OFFICE SPACE
This project was designed to replicate the look of an old, faded “ghost sign” inside a modern office space. The goal was to give the space a vintage, historic charm while maintaining a polished and professional atmosphere.
Project Overview
The City Hall sign was painted using a combination of vinyl stencils and hand distressing techniques to create an aged effect. The black wall served as the perfect background for the off-white lettering, which was deliberately weathered to achieve an authentic ghost sign appearance.
Techniques Used
- Stencil Application: The lettering was applied using vinyl stencils, ensuring precise edges and consistent proportions across the entire design.
- Aged Distressing: After painting, we used specialized tools and abrasion techniques to add a distressed texture to the letters, simulating years of wear. This was done manually to control the level of fading and chipping in key areas.
- Scaffolding & Access: A small rolling scaffold was used to reach the higher sections of the lettering while allowing for easy movement along the wall.
Final Result
The final piece blends seamlessly into the industrial aesthetic of the office, enhancing the space’s character while reinforcing a timeless design. The faded texture and soft imperfections make it feel like a genuine relic of the past, rather than a newly painted sign.
