Pizza Pizza Signage & Faux Painting
Location: Barrie, Ontario
Inspiration and Concept
This project aimed to refresh the exterior of a Pizza Pizza location with a custom mural design that reflected the pizzeria’s long-standing history. The distressed brick aesthetic was chosen to create an old-time, classic feel, complementing Pizza Pizza’s enduring status as a local favorite.
Techniques and Materials
For this mural, stencils were used to create the clean, professional signage. The map of Barrie was projected onto the wall and then hand-painted to ensure accuracy and detail. The faux brick effect was achieved using layered painting techniques to replicate a distressed appearance.
Challenges and Solutions
The uneven surface of the exterior wall required careful preparation to ensure the design elements adhered correctly. Additionally, projecting the map of Barrie onto the surface necessitated precision and multiple adjustments to account for the building’s angles.
Outcome
The updated exterior transformed the restaurant’s look, giving it a nostalgic charm that resonated with customers. The combination of signage and faux painting added a unique and inviting character to the space.
