SHERWAY GARDENS VALET PARKING AREA MURAL

Location: Sherway Gardens Mall, Toronto, Ontario

Inspiration and Concept:
The client wanted a geometric wall design to highlight the valet parking area and visually distinguish it from the rest of the mall. The pattern needed to convey modern elegance and fit seamlessly into the mall’s upscale branding.

Techniques and Materials:
To achieve the intricate geometric design, a custom stencil was fabricated using durable corrugated plastic (coroplast). This stencil allowed for precise repetition of the pattern across the wall. The process required meticulous attention to alignment; any misstep would compromise the uniformity of the entire mural. The high sections of the wall were reached using scaffolding, and after completing the stencil work, touch-ups were performed to ensure a flawless finish.

Challenges:
One of the key challenges was ensuring the continuity of the geometric pattern over a large area while maintaining accuracy. Additionally, reaching the high areas of the wall and executing precise details at scale required careful planning and execution.

Outcome:
The completed mural enhances the visibility of the valet parking area with a visually appealing and modern geometric design. The work was completed over the course of one week by a small, efficient crew.
