SOL ADVERTISEMENT MURAL – GABBY’S RESTAURANT

Inspiration & Concept

The mural, commissioned by an advertising company for Gabby’s Restaurant, was designed to encapsulate the essence of summer with Sol beer as the centerpiece. Featuring vibrant imagery of beach scenes, a vintage car, and surf culture, the mural evokes a carefree, sunny vibe that aligns perfectly with Gabby’s outdoor patio atmosphere.

The tagline “Welcome to Our Kind of Beach” ties together the themes of relaxation, fun, and the inviting allure of a refreshing Sol beer on a warm day.

Techniques & Materials

Image Projection: The design was projected onto the wall to ensure proper scaling and placement of the intricate elements.

Lettering Stencils: A stencil was utilized to ensure the clean and precise application of the bold lettering, making the tagline pop against the artistic backdrop.

HVLP Spray Gun: The blending and shading in the mural—from the ocean waves to the glowing bottles of Sol beer—were achieved using a high-volume, low-pressure (HVLP) spray gun. This allowed for smooth transitions between colors and added depth to the artwork.

Hand Detailing: Final touches, including highlights and accents, were meticulously applied by hand to bring the mural to life.

Challenges & Solutions

Outdoor Environment: Painting outdoors presented challenges such as weather fluctuations. To mitigate this, work schedules were adjusted to favorable conditions to ensure quality and durability.
