CUSTOM PAINTED TIRE SIGN – THE LAKESIDE MOTEL, WELLINGTON
This unique signage project for The Lakeside Motel in Wellington takes an innovative approach to outdoor branding. Instead of a traditional wall-mounted sign, the client opted for a repurposed tire, creating a playful and eye-catching element that aligns with the motel’s relaxed and waterfront aesthetic.
TECHNIQUE & APPROACH
Painting on a curved rubber surface presents specific challenges, requiring careful layout and execution. To ensure clean, evenly spaced lettering, we used a custom vinyl stencil, carefully applied to follow the round shape of the tire. The white letters contrast boldly against the deep black rubber, ensuring visibility and durability for outdoor display.
The application involved:
- Precise measurement and alignment to follow the natural curvature of the tire.
